Tim & Melissa's Birthdays!

Good times with the fam! Tim & Melissa have birthdays only a few days aprt. We went bowling at Main Event in Frisco. We were not able to finish a full game in 1 hour. So technically, no one beat me. I whooped David in air hockey. Then Tim & Melissa beat us at double air hockey.  We ate dinner at a new place called Kublai's Mongonlian Grill.  It was okay.  A little disorganized though.

The Big Move

Well, the big moved has finally happened. David and I are now residents of Krugerville, Texas!

We started off on Saturday morning with David being as sick as a dog! I got us breakfast and Sandy and Bobby came over to help move boxes. I felt so disorganized. The 1st load was in our cars. Sandy helped us moved so many little boxes. After the 1st load, Sandy had to leave. Bobby and I returned to the apartment with Jenny and Jared who came fresh from their honeymoon! When we got there, Tim and Melissa were ready to help. We really had an all-star crew. We loaded up a majority of the furniture and the rest of the boxes. After we unloaded those, we were so dead tired. We crashed at the Prairie House restaurant in Cross Roads.

Sunday morning we were right back at it. Bobby, Melissa and Tim helped me clear out the apartment. Tim took down the ceiling fan single-handedly. David and his friends, John and Aaron, cleared out some of the heavy stuff from the garage.

Scully is very nervous in the house still. David was convinced the house was haunted the first night we slept there. He said Scully was looking at something that wasn't there, just like in the Animal Planet show, "The Haunted." I think she is just a spaz. She has already crapped on the new carpet. David was so happy about that. Scully hangs out in our room and doesn't explore the other side of the house. Which is lame because I want her new cat box spot to be in the laundry room.

We are still emptying boxes and making adjustments. We painted and got new carpet. We took all the doors off. We are adjusting to the septic and aerobic systems. My 1st shower there was worse than any one I took at Camp Arrowhead. It will be nice when we have all our appliances in and can stop eating out. And now after the move is over, I am the one who is sick!

I know we are going to love it here!

Thanksgiving

I was lucky enough to have my parents come to me for Thanksgiving! They arrived the day we closed on our house. So I was able to put them to work the next day. The pictures I took of them cleaning are on the camera that David took river rafting pictures with last summer. So that means we will never see them.

On Thanksgiving, I made a reservation at Lawry's. None of us had been there before. They were having a Thanksgiving special. Tommie, Bobby, Tim, and Melissa met us there. The food was really good. I even liked the stuffing. (I only like my mom's stuffing.) We had turkey, potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, sour dough bread and lots of asparagus. Some people go Prime Rib as well. We went home after that and had pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and Elbert's banana nut pie. Yummy, as usual!

We had to break out on the party poppers at the end. It isn't an Anderson holiday with a ridiculous picture of people in paper hats. Then we watched a little football and fell asleep early.

Yummy.

Visit From The Canuck Cousins

David has 2 cousins that live in Burnaby, British Columbia. They were not able to make it down here for our wedding. But they came out a month later and we got to see them. They were dying to eat Kentucky Fried Chicken when they got here. It doesn't take the same in Canada. So we had that for lunch and sat around and talked. Melissa, Jenny and I played a few rounds of dominoes, but we didn't keep score. We found out that Jenny and Jared just got engaged! Their wedding will be December 12th.

Sitting on the curb.

A whole lotta cousins.

Wedding Weekend: Saturday

I was too excited to sleep on our wedding day. I woke up at 4 AM. Our hair appointment at the Cutting Edge Hair Salon in Carrollton wasn't until 6:15 AM. My mom, bridesmaids, and I got our hair done and were out the door by 8:30 AM. It had started raining again.

I got to the Bingham House first. Everyone else was close behind me. The flowers from Rain Florist Designs were out on the tables. They looked great. After we changed, we took a few pictures. We were out on the balcony in the front of the house. People driving by were whistling at us. The groomsmen got their pictures taken too, but I heard it took a while to get their act together. One of them went out to get something to eat. Grumble, grumble...

The ceremony was very sweet. We had to walk through the rain to get there. But it was worth it to see David's smiling face. My mom cried. When we were done we kind of huddled in the corner. Then took off to the front of the house to take more pictures. I just wanted to get to the food and water part. I think I was getting a little snippy at the photographer. David and I took some pictures alone while people watched our slide show and had appetizers.

We made our grand entrance to the reception to "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'N Roses. I forgot we were supposed to go right into the first dance. So we went around and hugged like 3 tables of people until they got us out on the dance floor. Our song was "All I Want is You" by U2. Then it was food time! The meatballs were so good. All the other food was great too, but the meatballs were amazing! After the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance, we did the cake and toasts. Ebi's was a very sweet spin on one of my favorite camp songs, "Dreams". David's best man, John Carpenter, did one too.

Then it was time to get your boogie on! The Limbo Contest is always a big Anderson tradition. My cousin, Stacey Malaret, always wins. She has a 5 wedding record. But in a shocking twist, David's cousin's husband, Tim Wong, won. The DJ played the "Cupid Shuffle." My mom jumped in after watching Dorian for a few minutes.

Then is was time for our getaway. It was still raining! So the horse and carriage was out. We got to take a ride in the antique car, Pearl. It was a 1944 Plymouth. Our remaining guest lined up on either side of us and threw dried lavender. That stuff smells great, but is a pain to get off. Then it was off to the after party.

More pictures are on Facebook.
