A Night at the Oscars 2011

Jodi held her annual Oscar party again this year.  Elbert did all the food.  I brought the ballots.  At the end of the night, The King's Speech was the big winner.  Unfortunatly, I was off my game and had to pas the staute to Stephanie.  The ironic part of it is she doesn't watch very many movies!

My Favorite Holiday

I love Halloween! It's a holiday based around candy and scary movies. What more could you ask for? At work we had a little pizza party for lunch. Janet won our costume contest. She went as our supervisor, Cindy. Halloween night, I went over to Sandy's sister, Becky's, house. The neighborhood was alive with children. I haven't seen anything like it since I was their age. Kids were in costumes running all over the place. People were sitting outside handing out candy. Everyone had their houses decorated. Eight of us escorted Blythe around the neighborhood. David was a pirate and I was a baby. A lost dog ran out in front of a car and David saved her. He called the number on the collar and held her until the owners came. He was the hero of night! And one of the best parts was we got to sleep in an extra hour the next day due to daylight savings time.

Bylthe's 3rd B-Day

Blythe's birthday was wonderful fun! The theme was Wonder Pets. I have never heard of them but they are like crack for kids. Even more than The Wiggles. Jodi went all out for this party, again! It was supposed to be outside, by Hurricane Ike messed that up. So, we went to the rec center and had the party in the Preschool room. The cake was professionally done. It was strawberry and chocolate with fondant icing. She hired a lady to bring in animals. They were so cute. The best one was called a sugar glider. I had never heard of that before. And of course, there was a pinata. Jodi swears next year will be more low key. But nobody believes her!

Oscar Night

Jodi had her Oscar party tonight. I arrived after work around 6:30 PM to see the red carpet show. Coffy, Stephanie Jackson, Stephanie King, Sandy, Brandy, and Cassandra were there. The red carpet wasn’t that interesting. I think everyone was wearing similar dresses. Elbert made us a wonderful feast of pizza, fried cheese sticks, fried zucchini, fruit, dip, and cookies. We drank sparkling wine. Blythe was the most active I have ever seen her. She is a fun kid. The show started at 7:30 PM. Jon Stewart hosted. He was as funny as he could be without offended the Hollywood royals. We had Oscar ballots that we filled out before the show started. Every category got one point except for a few. Supporting actor and actress got 3 each. Lead actor, actress, and best picture got 5 points. Then we switched them around to correct each others. No Country for Old Men kicked everyone’s butt all night. I haven't seen that one yet. At the end, Jodi had 20 point on her Oscar ballot. I had 18. She won the title of Oscar Night Master witch came with the glorious prize of nothing. (I didn't have time to pick anything up.) I so close! Maybe next year...
