Happy New Year! David and I spent New Year's Eve with the Morgan family, Matt, Michelle, Lincoln, baby Avery, and their extended clan. We went to Michelle's mother's house in Highland Village. Her step-dad had just gotten a fire pit for Christmas. They had a blazing little fire and the kids were roasting marshmallows. It was actually cold out. It was nice to sit by the fire. We drank pineapple champagne from Hawaii. We watched the ball drop in Times Square and then we went home. New Year's is amateur night in Dallas. So we wanted to get home before the drunks did.
I didn't have time to put together any retrospective of the year. I just some highlights would be moving to Carrollton, taking over the Kid Kapers camp at work, our summer vacation to Colorado, Chelsea's wedding, and getting engaged in September! My New Year's resolutions are to eat better (of course) and cut down on the Starbucks. My friend, Coffy, came up with the phrase, "fine in 2009" because that is what we are going to be for the wedding. Fine!

Here's to 2008!
I didn't have time to do the Year in Review Slideshow this year. So, I thought I would just do a short recap of 2007 inside.
January - Started out New Year's 2007 with my crazy neighbor almost burning down the apartment building. I worked at Blockbuster that night and feel asleep before midnight. That is how I roll. For David's birthday, we tried to go camping, but it poured down rain. I took the Lifeguard Training class, so I could get a better 2nd job.
February - I passed the Lifeguard class and realized I am not as young as I used to be. The class was full of 15 year olds. I got 2 lifeguarding jobs at Collin College and the Frisco ISD Natatorium. The softball team, the Rec'n Crew, got back together. I got a root canal, it sucked bad.
March - We went camping at Turner Falls in Oklahoma. It was freezing! My parents came to visit for St. Patrick's Day. I participated in the MS Walk and raised $100.
April - I really didn't do much but work...
May - I got my first Texas visitor, Kate Budd! I finally got to show some one around. My Aunt Kathy passed away from breast cancer.
June - I ran in the Race for the Cure with a team I put together of city employees. David and I went to Washington for my 10 year high school reunion. We toured the state and saw Central, Seattle, and Mt. St. Helens too. I had my 28th birthday on our flight back.
July - David and I went to the see the Reverend Horton Heat. We shook Jimbo's hand. He is so cool! We also saw the Reel Big Fish. I took the Lifeguard Instructor Training class.
August - We went camping at Purtis Creek State Park. It was 100 degrees!
September - David and I had our 1 year anniversary. We ate expensive meat. We saw Velvet Revolver and Alice in Chains at Fair Park. I quit working at Collin College. Three jobs had become too much.
October - I went to Jacksonville to visit my parents. I also went back to Washington. It was supposed to be the Camp Arrowhead Retirement party. But my friends have been doing a great job keeping the camp open. Maybe it will be ready for campers in 2008! Softball ended for the year.
November - I started volunteering on some committees for the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. More dental problems...
December - David and I had Christmas in Jacksonville! We went to Howe for New Year's and feel asleep for midnight again.
That was my year the best I could recap it. Not too interesting. My goals this year are camp more, eat better, buy a house/condo/townhouse, and get that Park Ranger job. We'll see what happens.

Happy 2007!
This is the time of year when I am supposed to write about all the stuff that went down in 2006 and how much better 2007 will be. I figured instead of words to describe 2006, I would steal Jonathan's idea and make a slide show. If it doesn't load here, I have it on Myspace or I could send it to you directly.
