Our Double Wedding Weekend

We went to 2 weddings this weekend!  Thanks goodness they weren't on the same day.  I searched all of Denton for a dress that would be appropriate for both.  Since there wasn't anyone else going to both, I decided it was okay to wear the sme dress twice.

The first one was Melinda DeVore and Josh Davis.  I work with Melinda at TMC.  It was at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.  That place is the definition of Mega Church.  The ceremony was in the chapel.  The place was so amazing by itself it didn't need any decorations.  The reception was in the courtyard, but it was not your regular church basement.  The food was hors d'oeuvres of fruit and cheese and crackers.  The cake was amazing!  The Bride's cake was Italian creme and the Groom's cake was chocolate and peanut butter.  I wanted to get back in line for some more, but I didn't want to be rude.  It was made by the mother of a Head Guard at work.  I can't rave about it enough.  Her favor was candy.  I ate an Atomic Fireball for the first time in years.  I thought was going to cry.  David left with a green tongue from the Fun Dip.

The wedding on 10/10/10 was that of David's high school friend Thomas Birdwell.  He married his long time girlfriend, Kelly Coleman.  I had only met them once before when we went tubing last summer.  This one was outside at a park in Hickory Creek.  The weather was perfect.  It was a little hot, but there was a breeze.  The only gripe I have was the aluminum folding chairs burned my bootie!  The reception was in a pavilion.  They had a barbecue company cater.  The Groom's cake had a picture of Chuck Norris on it.  Apparently the groom is obsessed with him.  We didn't get to stay to eat it, but I bet it was great.

We were happy to hang up our wedding clothes.  Going to 2 weddings is more stressful that you would think.  Everyone else is going to have a wait a little bit to get married until I am ready for another.

You may kiss the bride!
