Red, Hot, And Pink!

Saturday, was the Race for the Cure. I was the Team Captain of the City of Plano Cure-saders again. This time I had 56 people on the team. I got sponsored by the Risk Management Department, so I had raffle prizes to give away. It was really great. We finished the race in 1 hour, 13 minutes, and 59 seconds. As you can tell, I walked this year.

Later that night, David and I went out on our friend's boat to Lake Lewisville. There was the Red, Hot, and Blue festival going on. There was a fireworks show. On the way back to the dock, we got pulled over for an inspection. I have never been pulled over in the water before. Turns out we didn't turn a light on that we needed. They let us go.

Look at all the racers.

David still loves me before I made him walk 3.1 miles. How about after?

Blythe Turns 1!

Sunday was Blythe Burley's 1st birthday party. I have never been to a baby's party before. I got there around 5:30 PM. Elbert had a nice spread of food (he always does!). There was an ice cream cone theme to the party. Jodi and Elbert were wearing shirts that Jodi made that said Team Blythe 01. They were very cute and creative. Blythe was were a specially made onesie that Martha Downey helped make. It had a #1 on the front and said Blythe on the back. It had a tulle tutu and collar. She has a fluffy pony tail holder. It was so cute! It was good to see all the Burleys and Averys again. Elbert's dad even showed up! He has been out of the country for a long time. People from work showed up and some of Jodi's other friends. At cake time, Blythe wasn't too interested in eating. Just blowing out the candles with help from mom and dad. We ended up watching a few football games. How will Jodi top this party next year? Stay tuned...
