Blythe's 5th!

Jodi's daughter, Blythe, had her 5th birthday party yesterday!  I cannot believe she is 5.  I remember the day she was born, I called Jodi at the hospital to see what the status was and she answered the phone while she was in labor!  I couldn't believe it!  I got to go see Blythe and hold her when she wasn't even 24 hours old yet.  I am so lucky that I have gotten to see her grow up.  She's the best kid I know.  I love when I get to go to Jodi's and play with her.

Jodi went all out, like usual.  She says this is the last one for a while, but I don't believe her.  The party was a Carpenter, my old work.  This year's theme was Olivia the Pig.  I have no idea who that is, but I am not as hip as Blythe.  Jodi hired a magician, who even entertained the adults. Good food, good kidos, good times!

Fondant Olivia.  Jodi wouldn't let me bite the head off.  The nerve of that girl!

Oscar Night Fiesta!

Jodi's Oscar Party this year had a Mexican flare.  Elbert made fajitas and margaritas.  They were delicious, as usual.  We all pondered over our ballots.  I decided to go with The Hurt Locker all the way.  Mostly, because I didn't see Avatar.  To everyone's shock and Jodi's horror, I brought home the Oscar again this year.  My score was 35.  I got all the major categories and a bunch of random little categories.  Who really knows who will win best Sound Editing?  It's always a guess.  Jodi can redeem herself next year.

Artsy Fartsy Stephanie took this one.  I just liked it.

I would like to thank the Academy.

My Favorite Holiday

I love Halloween! It's a holiday based around candy and scary movies. What more could you ask for? At work we had a little pizza party for lunch. Janet won our costume contest. She went as our supervisor, Cindy. Halloween night, I went over to Sandy's sister, Becky's, house. The neighborhood was alive with children. I haven't seen anything like it since I was their age. Kids were in costumes running all over the place. People were sitting outside handing out candy. Everyone had their houses decorated. Eight of us escorted Blythe around the neighborhood. David was a pirate and I was a baby. A lost dog ran out in front of a car and David saved her. He called the number on the collar and held her until the owners came. He was the hero of night! And one of the best parts was we got to sleep in an extra hour the next day due to daylight savings time.

My Bridal Shower

I had the best Bridal Shower anyone could have asked for. My friend, Jodi Burley, is the most creative person I know. She put the whole shindig together with another friend of mine, Sandy McKinley. It was at Sandy's house. Jodi and her husband, Elbert, did all the food. He even made green punch! My favorite! We played a few games, like All About Sara. And then we opened presents. I got some great stuff. Especially the much needed knife set and curtains. I didn't get too many pictures on my own camera. When I get Tommie's pictures I will post them on Facebook. Thank you so much Jodi and Sandy!

Bylthe's 3rd B-Day

Blythe's birthday was wonderful fun! The theme was Wonder Pets. I have never heard of them but they are like crack for kids. Even more than The Wiggles. Jodi went all out for this party, again! It was supposed to be outside, by Hurricane Ike messed that up. So, we went to the rec center and had the party in the Preschool room. The cake was professionally done. It was strawberry and chocolate with fondant icing. She hired a lady to bring in animals. They were so cute. The best one was called a sugar glider. I had never heard of that before. And of course, there was a pinata. Jodi swears next year will be more low key. But nobody believes her!
