So, I feel like I have clogged up Facebook with all the stuff about Sydney's skin. So, I feel like I should take up blogging again.
When Sydney was about 1 1/2 months old, she got RSV. When that died down her skin started to show signs of eczema. At that time she was transition from breast milk to Similac formula. After her face started to get brownish-yellow and peely, I took her to the doctor. They thought it was a skin infection and I used antibiotic ointment and hydrocortisone.
In the next month, I tried coconut oil, Aveeno Baby original lotion, Aveeno Baby Eczema treatment, Eucherin Original Healing lotion, Eucherin Eczema lotion, and Aquaphor. I also washed everything that touched her with Dreft and doubled rinsed. I bath her in only water and use Aveeno Eczema if she needs soap. I have changed her food from Similac advance to Nutramigen.
Her skin changes hourly. She has the rash on her face and elbows. But some times it's on her torso, back, and legs. It even went up into her scalp and looked him cradle cap.
I can't be sure if exactly what is working. So I was hoping a visual log will help me remember.
Her skins was completely clear for 1 day on Day 8 of the 1st Nutramigen trial. She also had the Flu B at the time.
We went back to Similac when I thought Nutramigen wasn't working. But then she got a green diarrhea and horrible diaper rash. Vaseline and cornstarch mixed equally together helped with that.
This is day 1 of going back to Nutramigen.
Day 3 of Nutramigen. She seems to like the taste. She eats it fairly quickly. It looks a little better on her face. It's in her elbow and back. Her legs are dry but no rash. The diarrhea stopped. She only pooped twice. It's still greenish but not runny. I am still only using aquaphor lotion every time I change her diaper.
Someone suggested it could be Fifths Disease and not eczema. I don't think so.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear it!
