Wedding Weekend: Sunday

Sunday it was time to say goodbye. We ate breakfast at Mimi's Cafe in Allen. They have the best honey bran muffins! David and I brought all of our stuff back to our apartment. My cousins, Stacey and Jenelle, came over to kill time before their flights. We opened presents and cards. Then it was time to sift threw all the leftovers. I was begging my cousins to take some wine and champagne home with them. I was able to get rid of a lot of the leftover trail mix and lavender at work.

We are so thankful for everything people gave to us. Thanks for making our wedding a weekend we will never forget!

Weekend Weekend: Saturday, Part 2

The After Party at Holiday Inn Express Breakfast was fun! It was good to be able to hang out with everyone and talk. And not be cramped or have to worry about people we didn't know. It was still raining when we got there. After lugging everything up to the our room, I took a shower. We came back down and played the game Catch Phrase for a while. That game is classic! It started out as only 4 of use playing and ended with 12 or 13. I think we had an uneven number. Dad bought us pizza, bread sticks, salad, and lasagna for a place called Crazy Tomatoes. It must have moved into Allen after I moved out. But the garlic sauce on their bread sticks was good! After dinner, it had stopped raining for a little bit, so Aunt Susie, Jenelle, and I went to go watch Scott skate at the Allen Skate Park. He is really good. Hopefully you can view the videos below. David and I retired to our room around 9. Then came back down to see Tim, Melissa, and Aunt Judy who were fashionably late. I was so tired I couldn't stay up. It had been a long, fun day.

5 Ks

Last night it poured down rain. There was lots of scary thunder and lightning too. So, I thought this morning's MS Walk wasn't going to happen. But when I work up, it was beautiful out. It was about 50 degrees and sunny. Aubrie was supposed to come over around 7 AM, but on the way here she was hit by an uninsured motorist. Lame! So, she couldn't come. I went solo. But the met up with my team, Plano Pflamingos Lending Support (PPLS), in Addison Circle Park. It made of Plano librarians and one lady from police records. I didn't realize that this 5k was not really a race like the Race for the Cure. There was a competitive run before the walk started. But this is actually a walk. I ran anyway; I'm a rule breaker. In about 5 minutes I was leading the pack. I wasn't sure where to go because there wasn't much signage. We ran down Arapaho Road, over the bridge, and back. I actually couldn't find the finish line or I would have finished faster. I finished in 35 minutes and 41 seconds. That is about the time I finished for last year's Race for the Cure. Thank you to Dad, Jay Armstrong, and Jenelle Braun-Monegan who helped me raise $100. I got a shirt for it.

This year's Race for the Cure is just around the corner. Like I said last year, I started a City of Plano team. We are called the Plano Cure-saders. Caribbean Cruise Part Deux

Finally, the moment you have been waiting for! My long winded account of the cruise. It took about 5 hours to get from Jacksonville to Fort Lauderdale. The van was packed! I broguht 2 suitcases because I knew I would be taking a lot home. Princess Cruises made it very difficult to get on the boat, but once we were on everything was okay. And the food was not that great. We met up with all 33 members of the party at dinner that night. Then we had 2 days at sea to get to St. Martin. During those days we probably did everything available on the boat. We ate a lot, drank a lot, swam, watched movies, went to shows, played volleyball, gambled, and attempted to karaoke 3 times. Everywhere we went we had to save like 20 seats. The Bridal Tea was the first day at sea. It was very nice. We played games and had scones. Kate and I almost won one. St. Martin was nice. We went on a little boat ride to the French side, then took a bus back. Then, I went in the water. That night was the Bachelorette Party. Venessa's friends found some random guy on the boat to be the stripper. He wore a G-string with dog ears! Eeek! St. Thomas was the next day. We took a little bus tour to Magen Bay and Blackbeard's Castle. Magen Bay is supposed to be one of the world's best beaches. It's a great beach, now if they could only update the bathrooms... We did some shopping and ran into Dr. Ruth on the street. I was so tired when we got back. The next day, we had a sea day. It was Wedding Day! The ceremony was very nice. It was on the tail fin. They blocked it off, but people were watching and taking pictures. I thought that was cute. But the people in the game room didn't stop playing ping pong and that was a little annoying. The reception was in the Skywalker Lounge. All the speeches made every girl in my family cry. Especially Jenelle's! Then, of course, it was cheese ball and limbo time. Stacey always wins, but Kate came very close this time. Chelsea caught the bouquet. The last full day we spent at Princess Cays, Bahamas. I liked that the best. We went snorkeling and kayaked in a glass bottom boat. Even though I am afraid of fish, I really enjoyed snorkeling. We played Tug of War too. We tried to get the whole family on one team, but that would have made it too uneven. So, Uncle Drew and I were on the "other" team. We ended up winning and pulling the Assistant Cruise Director into the water. Our prize was a beer. That night, the groom's family hosted a dinner party were we ate everything on the menu. Seriously! We had one of everything. I thought I was going to throw up. And that was the end of the cruise. The next day we drove 5 hours back. It was a great idea for a family reunion.
