Blythe's 5th!

Jodi's daughter, Blythe, had her 5th birthday party yesterday!  I cannot believe she is 5.  I remember the day she was born, I called Jodi at the hospital to see what the status was and she answered the phone while she was in labor!  I couldn't believe it!  I got to go see Blythe and hold her when she wasn't even 24 hours old yet.  I am so lucky that I have gotten to see her grow up.  She's the best kid I know.  I love when I get to go to Jodi's and play with her. 

Jodi went all out, like usual.  She says this is the last one for a while, but I don't believe her.  The party was a Carpenter, my old work.  This year's theme was Olivia the Pig.  I have no idea who that is, but I am not as hip as Blythe.  Jodi hired a magician, who even entertained the adults. Good food, good kidos, good times!

Coffy's Birthday

Coffy's Birthday party was mellow this year.  We went out to Kenny's Woodfire Grill.  And it happened to be Restaurant Week in Addison, so we got a good special on the food.  I order a salad, the fillet mignon, chocolate cigar, and a pear-tini.  The food was really good.  The drinks were really strong.  Dorian was late, as usual.  And the place was packed, especially for a Thursday!  I recommend this restaurant, but make sure you have a reservation.  Happy Birthday Coffy!  Here's to another fun year!

Tim & Melissa's Birthdays!

Good times with the fam! Tim & Melissa have birthdays only a few days aprt. We went bowling at Main Event in Frisco. We were not able to finish a full game in 1 hour. So technically, no one beat me. I whooped David in air hockey. Then Tim & Melissa beat us at double air hockey.  We ate dinner at a new place called Kublai's Mongonlian Grill.  It was okay.  A little disorganized though.

Dorian's 30th B-Day!

We celebrated Dorian's birthday at his favorite restaurant, Olive Garden in Addison.  Dorian actually got there early to get a table.  Maybe his old age is making him want to eat earlier in the day.  The food was great like usual.  I got the spaghetti and meat sauce.  But I really just ate the salad and breadsticks.  The spaghetti will be today's lunch!  David, Sandy, Gordon, and I got Dorian an iTunes gift card.  Steve got him some pink sweat bands.  And he got a plethora of cards.  Good times!

Game Night at Steve's

Game nights are beginning to be a regular occurrence for the Carpenter Park gang. We all met at Steve Norman's for his 42nd birthday. Everyone brought some food so we had a great smorgasbord. I brought a few games, but Steve has an XBOX. So you know what that means? Rock Band! However, we couldn't get it to work. Eleshia called their son to see if he could help over the phone. I think he thought we were all crazy. So Steve and Trey ran out to the video store and came back with The Beattles Rock Band. It's amazing how many Beattles songs I don't know the real words to. But they are classics that everyone likes and knows the tune. It was a great sing-a-long. I got 100% on one song, but I forgot what it was. My camera batteries died before I could take any pictures. This was the only one I got. The video I recorded on my phone.

Coffy's Big B-Day Bash

Coffy had another wonderful birthday bash this year! A whole bunch of us gathered at Pappadeaux's in Richardson. We could tell the waiters hated us from the get go. Who wouldn't? There was like 30 of us! I busted out the camera early. Everyone acted like they didn't want their picture taken, but you know they did. David and I split the salmon. It was very good, but I could have used some rice to go with it. Coffy opened her gifts. Jodi got her a gag gift of a really ugly purse. Her really gift was an Ulta gift card. After dinner, we went to the Nylo Hotel lounge. We rented a little seating area and had our own waitress. The atmosphere was fun. I didn't quite care for the music or the volume, but I enjoyed it anyway. Everyone was dancing and drinking and having a great time. We stayed until it closed. Then Jayme, Bryan, Dorian, and I went to IHOP. It took us so long to get breakfast. It was cold in there and I was tired. I fell asleep at the table. Dorian took me home around 4 AM. I haven't been out that late in forever!! Let's see if Coffy can top this year at her next party. She better start planning now!
